My Poetry

Night and Day
Drawing toward you,
my toes barely tickle the belly of the tide.
Muscles burning,
I swim in the dark sky
dodging clouds to reach you.
I leaped off the sun,
was left to drip dry,
and while dreaming of the moon
my fingers traced you in the stars.

Falling In Tide
Toes twist in moonlit mud.
Foam waves flow above his ankles.
Jeans wet to thigh,
struggle to stand.
Dark settles in,
as water pushes under.
The sandbar smiles,
she consumes him.

Acoustic Love
He runs his hands down her
wooden hips.
He slowly strums the
strings of her hair.
He picks her.
He fingers the chords.
She mouths the melody.
They make music.

Embroidery (for my grandmother with Alzheimers)
the needle used to sew the tear
in all our sadden hearts,
is piercing and is knotting
the thread that does the part.

to hold us all together
and work through all the pain.
when others may have no idea
and only earthly gains.
white fabric awaits a story
a woman will create.

but wrinkled fingers pull the needle
and what will be the fate?
time is slowly fading
and no one has the cure.
for in this long and tender life
she won't remember her.

Untitled
Sitting at the table,
legs touching underneath.
The hunger between the both
of them is dying to be freed.
They speak of others that they love,
though neither one believes.
That in the time they spend alone
satisfaction can be achieved.
What do they do, when life runs out
of chances to be alive,
Be with one another,
or simple to survive…

Sea
The salty sea steals the sands,
standing still, holding hands.
Sinking slowly, struggling to see,
staying seated you stare at me.

Again
The pit of my stomach burns
as my throat slowly drys.
My lips struggle without your breath,
my heart nearly cries.
From memory my eyes close tight,
just to think of you.
A smile appears across my face
of all the things you do.
My lonely body aches,
just to feel your skin.
I count the days, the minutes, the hours
until I see you again.

in ink
we wrote it
i smeared it
you sketched it
i scribbled it
you traced it
i scratched it
you outlined it
i scrawled it
you erased it
we
it
you
